She said: ''Women are powerful and music as a form of expression allows you to take ownership of that. Performances, videos and the poetry of a song are all great mediums for expressing that strength.

Camila Cabello was a One Direction ''superfan''.

The 20-year-old singer has admitted she once ''cried'' over a shoe that was thrown into the audience by band member Niall Horan at one of the 'History' hitmakers' shows in Miami.

Asked about her own experiences of being a fan and why she thinks that makes her relatable to her own fans, the former Fifth Harmony member said: ''I was a One Direction superfan, I even had my Twitter account dedicated to them. I remember that two months before auditioning for 'The X Factor', I saw their show in Miami and Niall [Horan] threw a shoe to the audience, and when the concert ended, a group of girls and me were crying for the shoe.

Fifth Harmony's upcoming album is their ''most genuine'' yet.

The girl group - which includes Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui - are releasing their next LP in late August and they have teased that it will be very ''authentic''.

Ally said: ''We are doing so incredible. We are the happiest we've ever been and so many exciting things are happening for us right now. So we're just doing incredible.''

The 'Crying In The Club' hitmaker is currently working on her first LP since leaving Fifth Harmony and has revealed it is already in the ''mixing stages''.

She said: ''I'm working on my album right now. It's actually in the mixing stages and it's almost finished, so I'm very excited about that.''

Fifth Harmony ''did everything'' in their power to make the band work after Camila Cabello's exit.

The future of the group - comprised now of Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane Hansen - was thrown up into the air last year when the 20-year-old singer announced she was leaving them in order to release solo material, but they have admitted there was no chance they were going to let things fall apart because of one member's departure.

Normani said: ''I get to sleep at night knowing we did everything in our power as friends, bandmates and human beings (to make it work).''

Former Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello has revealed that she was one of the first people who spoke to Ariana Grande in the aftermath of the terrorist atrocity in Manchester last week.

20 year old Cabello, who departed the girl-band Fifth Harmony after just over four years back in December 2016, appeared on ‘This Morning’ in Britain on Wednesday (May 31st) and revealed that she tried to comfort Grande in the wake of the attack, which happened at the end of Ariana’s gig at Manchester’s MEN Arena last Monday.

Camila Cabello has released her own statement following her shock departure from Fifth Harmony.

It comes just one day after the girlband announced she had left the group with a somewhat shady-sounding statement, in which they claimed they had been “informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony.”

But posting a lengthly response on Twitter, Camila said she was shocked by the band’s statement, which had been posted without her knowledge, and that she did not use a representative to inform them she was leaving the group.
