A California judge granted the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 45, a restraining order on Tuesday - after she went to police with claims that he severely beat her in a Houston hotel room during a vicious argument which reportedly took place on the 16th October this year.

The fight reportedly broke out when 36 year-old Charalambopoulous started receiving angry texts and calls from another woman at around 1.30am. This started an argument between Dimitri and Camille that became violent. Dimitri is said to have grabbed Camille by the hair, threatening: "I wanna smash your head in. I'll give you a reason to call the cops."

He also smashed her phone when she tried to call for help. ""I am still in shock," she told Hollywood Life. "This is the man who said he loved me." However, Camille has revealed that at first she didn't plan on doing anything about her injuries after the fight had simmered down. "At first when it happened, I wasn't going to say anything," she said.

Apparently, were it not for the professional advice of her therapist, Camille would not have made the move to report her boyfriend's actions. She explains: "after talking to my therapist she encouraged me to speak up. She told me me, 'You need to use your voice. You are stronger than you know.'"

The attack occurred at a time when Grammer was particularly vulnerable: she was recovering from a hysterorectomy that she had to have as a result of developing endometrial cancer. "I was recuperating in my bed when he hit me," she said. "I just got out of a major surgery. I was completely vulnerable. He was supposed to be there to take care of me, comfort me, bring me food. I still wake up in the middle of the night with this vision in my head of being hit."

As a result of Camille's fears that a similar attack may occur, Charalambopoulos has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Grammer and her two children with her ex-husband, the actor Kelsey Grammer.

"I want to encourage women everywhere to speak up for themselves when it comes to domestic violence and abuse," the star told. "I'm hanging in there and I feel strong."
