Cara Delevingne ''always'' has a mascara in her bag.

The 24-year-old model has revealed she will never leave the house without her Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded cosmetic product on her person, because it is the go-to product she relies on when she needs to ''quickly turn things around'' from the day time to the evening.

Speaking about her essential cosmetic items to Elle magazine, the blonde beauty said: ''I always keep a mascara in my bad for when I need to quickly turn things around from day to night. Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded mascara is my trusted favourite.''

However, the 'Suicide Squad' actress - who played the role of the Enchantress in the fantasy film based on the DC Comic book series - has revealed when she has a day off out of her busy work schedule, she will not apply any make-up products to her face to help her skin ''breathe''.

She explained: ''on my days off I like to keep things simple and let my skin breathe, so I'll go make-up free. For skincare, I love Goddess of Skin products and I use a Tangle Teezer on my hair.''

But the fashion icon - who has graced the catwalk for luxury designer labels including Chanel, Burberry and Dolce and Gabbana - has revealed when she is working on set of a movie or on a shoot, make-up plays a key part in helping her to get into character for the role.

She explained: ''Make-up really helps me get into character for my acting roles.''

And the British star has likened applying cosmetic products to having a coat of ''armour'' or another layer of skin.

She continued: ''It's like putting on another skin, another armour, which helps me transform into any character.''
