Cara Delevingne isn't just going to dominate the fashion and modelling world, the 22 year-old Brit is now aiming to take on a career in the movie industry as she has just landed her first lead role in a feature film.

Delevingne is set to play Margo in John Green's 'Paper Towns'

The stunning model was "in talks" to star in the adaptation of John Green's 'Paper Towns' as the female lead, Margo, in which she will also be working alongside 19 year-old American actor Nat Wolff, Variety reported.

Green, who also wrote 'The Fault In Our Stars,' confirmed the news via Twitter on Tuesday (Sept 16th), he posted, "Cara Delevigne's audition blew everyone away (including me!) and she understands Margo profoundly. I am so excited!"

He later shared a second tweet, joking about misspelling Cara's last name. "(I should probably learn how to spell Cara's surname at some point)," he posted.

The plot centres around two young neighbours, Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman, who share the harrowing ordeal of finding the body of a man who committed suicide, but they eventually grow apart. However, on one random night the pair are reunited after Margo climbs through Quentin's bedroom window dressed as a ninja, and asks him to join her on a campaign of revenge.

"Thank you so much guys!!" Delevingne tweeted shortly after the casting was confirmed. "I am so excited! Ahhhh!"

Along with this role, Cara also recently finished filming the part of a mermaid in 'Pan,' and is reportedly linked to a lead role in a sequel of Ben Stiller's comedy 'Zoolander'.
