Cara Delevingne uses make-up to ''transform'' herself.

The 'Paper Towns' beauty has admitted she enjoys putting a face on for a special occasion or a night out but insists ''real beauty'' is incredibly important.

She said: ''As for beauty, real beauty is everywhere and you just need to be open to the opportunity of seeing it with your heart and soul. There are so many things that makes a woman beautiful. Confidence, integrity and talent are just some of them. I don't wear make-up every day, but I love to wear it for special occasions and mark the transition from day to night.

''Make-up plays a huge part in my professional life, and I love the way I can use it to transform myself. I love mascara ... And eyebrow gel, of course! I have so many iconic red lipsticks, and like both matt and balmy textures.''

And the 23-year-old model and actress also opened up about the lessons modelling taught her.

She added to the Telegraph newspaper's Stella magazine: ''I genuinely appreciate the opportunities that my career in fashion has given me. What started my modelling career was a bit of luck and some great teamwork.

''As a model, I've learnt that you have to work hard and put in as much effort as the whole team, and then some. I get to work with so many inspiring people and I have made some of my best friends through my modelling career.''
