Model Cara Delevingne has voiced her disapproval for a proposed new Facebook button which will allow users to ‘dislike’ one another’s posts. The idea for the new button was first announced by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg last year, but the model says it will ‘set off a whole new wave of bullying’.

"If it's something that is going to cause people harm, I really think we should steer against that. 'Like' away - but if you have a bad thought about someone, keep it to yourself.” Earlier this week Facebook unveiled five new buttons to go alongside ‘like’- 'love’, ‘wow’, ‘sad’, ‘haha’ and angry.

When Zuckerberg first spoke about the potential dislike button, he said he wanted it to be used to express empathy. “We didn’t wanna just build a dislike button…[where] people were voting up or down people’s post,” Zuckerberg said. “What they really want is an ability to express empathy”

Delevingne, who has 27.5 million followers on Instagram, 4.9 million on Twitter, and 3.6 million on Facebook, has also spoken about the need for celerities with influence to speak out on important issues.
