Carly Simon, Scarlett Johansson and Devendra Banhart have recorded new tunes for the soundtrack to a new documentary about two autistic friends.
Musician J. Ralph called on his famous friends to help him create the score for Wretches & Jabberers, and came up with a collaborative masterpiece, which also features Stephen Stills, David Garza, Antony Hegarty, Ben Harper and Nic Jones' first studio recording in 30 years.
Ralph tells Spinner.com, "It was evident that this film was clearly about searching for your own voice and finding what it means to have your own voice and expressing one's self."
The Oscar-winning composer was thrilled to welcome the stars into the recording studio, but he admits working with Antony & The Johnsons frontman Hegarty was a true highlight: "I'll never forget hearing his voice through the speakers in the studio. It was a transcendental experience (and) writing with Stephen Stills was incredible."
