Carrie Fisher gave a memorable performance on board a Caribbean cruise ship earlier this week for all the wrong reasons, with the actress exhibiting very strange behaviour throughout her act. Now the Star Wars legend is said to be in hospital receiving treatment for her bipolar disorder that is believed to be at the root of the sea-bound fiasco.

According to TMZ, a rep for the actress attributed the whole ordeal to Ms Fisher's ongoing battle with the mental disorder after a video of her appearance surfaced online. In the video Fisher is seen performing some off key songs on board the Holland America Eurodam in the Caribbean, with her dog also making an unscheduled performance too, pooping and peeing all over the floor.

Carrie appeared on stage as a 'surprise' celebrity guest and appeared far from sober, but her rep insists that the Star Wars actress' behaviour was down to her disorder and not because of intoxication. Fisher has discussed her biopolar disorder in the past and has sought to bring awareness to the topic on numerous occasions in the past. Her rep gave news on Fisher's recovery shorty after her discharge from the hospital, telling TMZ, "There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher’s bipolar disorder.  She went to the hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now."
