Lourd is the only daughter of ’Star Wars’ legend Fisher and her father is noted CAA talent agent Bryan Lourd. But the NYU graduate’s Hollywood connections go back even further, as her grandmother is Singin’ In The Rain star Debbie Reynolds and her grandfather is the late singer Eddie Fisher.

22 year old Lourd joins an already impressive cast on the Fox series, which includes Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Emma Roberts and Joe Manganiello. Ariana Grande has also been announced as guest starring in the series, while Nick Jonas will also have a recurring role.

The first season will consist of 15 episodes and take place in a sorority house on a college campus which has been hit by a series of murders. Much like creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s other series, ‘American Horror Story’, each season of ‘Scream Queens’ will feature a different setting and storyline.

Speaking about the series to ENews, Fox boss Gary Newman said, “We trust [Murphy] implicitly and he has proven over the years that he has great instincts for building characters that people care about and fall in love with.”

Adding, "He brings an outrageousness to what he does that is his unique signature and 'Scream Queens', he's literally the perfect person to do this. It's going to be an amazing, suspenseful, fun run."
