Carrie Fisher is the latest of the original Star Wars actors to announce their involvement in JJ Abrams’ forthcoming Star Wars movie. We already know that Harrison Ford is down to return to his role of Han Solo and now Carrie, 56, has told Palm Beach that she’ll be playing Princess Leia once more. She even revealed to the publication how she imagines her character to be, in the updated version.

“Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home,” she joked, describing the new Leia. Then Fisher added, slightly more seriously, “I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for big battle.” No stranger to mental health issues (Fisher has bipolar disorder), she even joked about the likelihood of her wearing that famous bikini on set again. “[Leia will still wear] the bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome. At sundown she thinks she’s twenty-something. And she puts it on and gets institutionalized.”

Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled for release in 2015, The Independent reports. Directed by JJ Abrams and written by Michael Arndt, the movie is also expected to spawn several spin-offs for some of the characters. George Lucas, the original Star Wars creator, is understood to be creating the treatments for the new movies, but Arndt will write them in full.
