The hotly-anticipated latest installment in the classic sci-fi franchise hit cinemas this week (beg14Dec15) and director J.J. Abrams urged all cast and crew not to give away any spoilers in the run-up to the release.

The plea even extended to audiences who had seen early screenings of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, as they were encouraged not to ruin the movie for others by posting major plot twists online.

Now actor John Boyega has revealed producers put up cleverly-worded posters during filming to remind the actors to keep the details quiet, and Star Wars veteran Carrie has confessed she took one of them home with her when the cameras stopped rolling.

In a joint interview with U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, John said, "It was so crazy that we were told for so long not to say anything, now when I'm asked a question, I'm not sure what I can say. During filming they had posters up saying, 'Loose lips sink star ships'."

Carrie then confessed, "Yeah, I stole one!"

The interview is due to air in the U.K. on Friday (18Dec15).
