The country music festival at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark was scheduled to be held from 26 to 28 June (15), but nearly two weeks before the kick-off, bosses announced the shows will not go on as planned.

A statement posted on the event's official Facebook.com page reads, "It is with great regret that due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to hold Thunder on the Mountain.

"Please be aware the cancellation has nothing to do with our amazing sponsors. They were a delight to work with and this is not a reflection of the work and dedication they put into the festival. Again this is something outside of our control."

The line-up for this year's (15) Thunder on the Mountain Festival also included the Band Perry, Big & Rich, Sara Evans, Eli Young Band, and Colt Ford, among others.

The first festival was held in 2013, with Toby Keith and Luke Bryan headlining the inaugural event.
