The piano that Dooley Smith sang from in classic movie Casablanca is up for auction.

The instrument from Rick's Cafe Americain (sic), the hang-out Humphrey Bogart's character owned in the 1942 movie, is expected to be a big seller at an upcoming memorabilia sale at Bonhams in New York.

The upright went under the hammer for over $600,000 (Gbp353,000) in 2012 and this time around it's expected to top $1 million (Gbp588,000) when it hits the block at the Turner Classic Movies sale in November (14).

It's one of 30 Casablanca items in the sale - set furniture, signed photographs and the original screenplay will also be up for grabs.
