Britain was hit by the tail end of Storm Jonas on Tuesday (26Jan16), days after the weather system battered America's East Coast and brought cities such as New York and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to a standstill with heavy snow.

The red carpet screening of new comedy Dad's Army, a big screen reboot of the beloved British wartime TV series, went ahead as planned despite the wintry weather, and Catherine struggled to avoid an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction as the wind whipped up the train of her dress.

Pictures show the Welsh actress pulling her frock down to prevent her underwear from showing.

Catherine was not fazed by the weather but admitted she was glad to have left her home in New York to fly to Britain for the premiere before Storm Jonas hit over the weekend (23-24Jan16), telling Britain's Daily Express newspaper, "I am at home when the rain comes. I came from New York ahead of the storm on Friday and had a lovely weekend with the family."

Dad's Army, which is due for release next month (Feb16), also stars Bill Nighy, Toby Jones, and Michael Gambon as members of Britain's Home Guard during World War II.
