The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess is adamant the band is not cursed despite the deaths of two members.

The British rockers have been dogged by tragedy, with keyboard player Rob Collins killed in a car crash in 1996 and the death of drummer Jon Brookes from brain cancer in 2013.

They were also driven to the brink of financial ruin during issues with an accountant, but singer Burgess insists there is no hex over the band.

He tells Q magazine, "I don't agree with the 'curse of The Charlatans'. Two people have died. Accountants always rip bands off. Now, after living in L.A., being on drugs, having a kid, losing one of your best friends, it's like anything goes..."
