Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter Kiera Chaplin flew into a panic on Monday (19Nov12) when she learned her bags had gone missing following a flight to London.

The actress jetted into the U.K. from New York, but upon arrival she discovered $16,000 (£10,000) worth of luggage had disappeared - leaving her without the dress she planned to wear to The Amy Winehouse Foundation Ball on Tuesday (20Nov12).

Chaplin turned to designer pal Roberto Cavalli, who saved the day by lending her a floor-length silver and purple gown for the special event.

She tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Roberto is a life-saver. I was so upset when they told me they couldn't find my luggage, but I know I can count on him to make me look good. Virgin (airline bosses) think someone may have got confused and taken my case instead of theirs. I just hope it's not a girl who is my size!"

Chaplin was recently named the world ambassador of The Amy Winehouse Foundation.
