Pop superstar Cher has offered to give her injured son Chaz Bono a medical boost as he competes on TV show Dancing With The Stars - she's sending him her top doctors.
The transgender star has been showing off his fancy footwork with professional partner Lacey Schwimmer on the TV contest, but revealed last week (begs19Sep11) that he had been struggling with injuries to his knees and ankles during rehearsals for the quickstep.
Bono now reveals the difficulties stem from one particularly complicated step.
He tells UsMagazine.com, "There's a step here that's very easy to miss, and several times I've landed on it. That, combined with dancing every day... It's a lot of pounding!"
The injuries continued to hamper his performance on the dancefloor when he displayed the routine on Monday night's (26Sep11) show, and Bono admits his famous mother is worried sick he'll do more damage to the joints the longer he stays on the programme.
He says, "(My mum) was stressed (on Monday night) to say the least! She called me up and she's sending her doctors to help. She's just trying to be as supportive as possible."
Despite his injuries, Bono has survived another week on Dancing with the Stars - George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis became the second celebrity to be voted off the season on Tuesday (27Sep11), following basketball star Ron Artest's exit last week.
