25-year-old Brown was staying in the Hardwood Suite at the Palms Casino Resort for the Mayweather v Pacquiao boxing match. The suite has its own private half court which Brown was playing on, at approximately 3.42am, when the alleged assault took place. Brown became involved in an argument with one of the men he was playing with and allegedly punched him in the face. The police were called but they did not speak to Brown at the scene.

However, the authorities allegedly gave Brown two options: face the District Attorney, who could decide to press more serious charges, or sign a citation for misdemeanour battery and appear in court to face charges.

Brown does not appear to handle competition on the basketball court well as this is the second time in a fortnight that Brown has been implicated in assaults surrounding arguments during games. In April, Brown settled a law suit out of court. The suit, filed by Malcolm Ausbon, alleged Brown and three other men assaulted him whilst playing a basketball game in Los Angeles last year. Brown settled $250,000 on Ausbon in out of court damages, according to TMZ

This latest incident comes only seven weeks after Brown was released from the probation relating to his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
