As outspoken as ever, 'Captain America' star Evans spoke to the latest issue of Esquire about the new president.
Captain America star Chris Evans has become the latest Hollywood A-lister to speak out against Donald Trump, saying that his ascent to the presidency is “unbelievable” and that he feels “rage”.
The 35 year old superstar, who has played the superhero in five Marvel blockbusters since 2011, spoke to Esquire magazine in a new interview this week, and the subject of Trump’s presidency inevitably came up. “I feel rage,” he replied. “I feel fury. It's unbelievable.”
Evans has never flinched from getting political on his social media accounts, recently arguing with former KKK leader David Duke, and he didn’t hold back on Trump either.
Chris Evans spoke out on Donald Trump
“People were just so desperate to hear someone say that someone is to blame,” Evans reflected. “They were just so happy to hear that someone was angry. Hear someone say that Washington sucks. They just want something new without actually understanding. I mean, guys like Steve Bannon [Trump’s chief stratetgist] - this man has no place in politics!”

Many Trump supporters have complained that the mainly liberal movie industry should keep its nose out of politics, particularly about issues that don’t affect them in the same way as ordinary people. But Evans sees things differently, saying that each star is merely abiding by their own conscience.
“Look, I'm in a business where you've got to sell tickets, but, my God, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror if I felt strongly about something and didn't speak up,” he said. “I think it's about how you speak up. We're allowed to disagree. If I state my case and people don't want to go see my movies as a result, I'm okay with that.”
