Fact: A larger-than-life bronze statue of Captain America is set to watch over Brooklyn's Prospect Park this summer (16). Marvel comic book bosses have commissioned the 13-foot (3.96-metre) tall likeness of the fictional superhero wielding his iconic shield, and will unveil the sculpture at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con event later this month (Jul16). It will then be transported to the character's native Brooklyn, where it will be on display from 10 August (16), reports USA Today. The base of the statue will also bear the quote, "I'm just a kid from Brooklyn", which actor Chris Evans, who portrays the soldier onscreen, uttered in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.
