The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star remembers when his wife was more famous than him, and when other actors would ignore him and chat her up.
He’s arguably the most in-demand actor in the world right now, but Chris Pratt remembers a time when he wasn’t so recognisable and when other actors would flirt with his wife Anna Faris – right in front of him!
35 year old Pratt, the forthcoming star of blockbuster Jurassic World, revealed in a new interview with GQ magazine that he would get annoyed when famous actors would disrespect him in this way. “I've had those moments, where I was like the guy holding the purse at events and people just look right through me. And, you know, actors come up and just blatantly hit on my wife in front of me and don't even look at me. I'm like, ‘What the f***, dude?’”
Anna Faris and Chris Pratt
The star, who had major parts in two massive hit movies in 2014 (Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie), claims he remembers exactly who the culprits were and relishes the opportunity to turn them down if they ask for a role in the Guardians sequel. He doesn’t name any names, but said “I can think of exactly who they are, too, and I hope they f*****g audition for Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Pratt met Faris, who is three years his senior, on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007. They married two years later and welcomed their first son, Jack, into the world in 2012. He explained that both he and his wife would love to expand their family. “I had siblings, so did Anna – we both dream of it. Jack should have the gift of a little person to push around, whether we have kids or potentially have a surrogate or adopt kids.”
Elsewhere in the interview, he reveals that his wife used to prefer him when he was larger in weight, before he slimmed down for the roles in Zero Dark Thirty and Moneyball that put him on the radar. “I think I was outwardly having more fun. I was more fun to be around, probably. That image I was casting, to convince people that I was okay, was a really fun person to hang around. Now I have less fun. I focus more. She doesn't get to cook for me the way she used to. I was like a great pet fat guy.”
However, Pratt claims that he’s now feeling a lot better about himself physically for having dropped the weight, and that Faris doesn’t mind too much. “She understands and she just supports me regardless. I think part of her is hedging her bets that one day I'll be fat again, and she'll say, ‘Remember, honey, I always told you I preferred you this way’. She's probably just playing the long game.”
