Pratt’s tweet reads: ‘Your to do list: 1) have kids 2) play outside 3) teach them to fish 4) take pictures. Thanks Dad. Miss you man.’

Pratt also attached a picture to the tweet which showed him as a pre-teen with his father and his brother Cully. Holding fishing rods, the shot was evidently taken on a family fishing trip.

Dan Pratt died in June 2014 after battling with M.S. for two decades. In an interview with GQ soon after his father’s death, Pratt described his father as a “hard worker” and an “old school kind of dad”. He also explained how his father had been hit hard by the M.S. diagnosis and had “lost interest in life”. As Pratt explained, his father had refused to take medication or undergo physical therapy.

"When he lost his ability to walk he gave up on life,” Pratt added. “Men of his ilk are defined by their ability to provide physically for their family and when that’s taken away, that was a joke to him."

Pratt was filming Jurassic World at the time of his father’s death and, in the same interview, revealed how he coped with the tragic news.

"I knew being the lead in the movie that I was really responsible for everybody’s attitude," Pratt said. "And so I compartmentalized it all and dealt with it in my own way, but not openly for people to see. I got pretty angry and got drunk and almost got in a fight with a drug dealer outside of my hotel room."
