Christina Aguilera will feature on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack after recording an original song titled 'We Remain' specially for the sequel.

The Voice coach made the announced on Twitter on Wednesday (September 25, 2013), tweeting to her 9.4 million followers: "Love the underlying message of @TheHungerGames. 'We Remain' is special new song, its message to my fans & how I connect w/ the movie, alike."

Aguilera joins Coldplay and Brooklyn rockers The National, who have recorded 'Atlas' and 'Lean' respectively for the second Hunger Games movie, once again starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth and this time featuring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Claflin and Jean Malone. 

In the new movie, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta (Hutcherson) begin adjusting to life as Hunger Games victors until they are suddenly thrown back into the arena for the 75th annual Games - the Quarter Quell. It hits theaters on November 22, though a release date for the accompanying soundtrack - sure to be a chart hit - has yet to be announced.

Aguilera's last album, 2012's Lotus, was met with mixed reviews by critics though performed admirably and debuted at No.7 on the Billboard 200 before shifting 687,000 tracks in the United States. The singer returned for the fourth season of The Voice on September 23, 2013.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the second movie in the franchise, while the third and final instalment, Mockingjay, will be split into two movies and is currently in the casting process.
