The Dip It Low singer made the confession during an episode of her reality TV series Christina Milian Turned Up on Tuesday (15Dec15), recalling the horrifying moment during a relationship with an unnamed 19 year old when she was 18.

She says, "He literally put a bullet in the gun and pointed it at my face... Staring down the barrel of a gun is the scariest thing you could ever experience. It's not funny, it's not for the movies. There's a chance of life or death in one click, that's it."

During the episode, Christina and her mum Carmen discussed the relationship, with a tearful Carmen saying, "You had bruises and you were covering them up all the time... I remember he instilled that fear in you that if you left him he would hurt us and because of that you stayed in it... But like to the point where you know you almost lost your life."

In a separate interview with to promote assault response cell phone app Stop Attack, Christina recalls more terrifying incidents during the tumultuous romance.

"I remember waking one morning and he was kicking me and stomping on me. It was over nothing. He accused me of lying about a boy. Then the violence escalated. When we had arguments he would choke me and kick me. I stayed with him in a house in Laurel Canyon hills, with no one around, and there were times when I ran half naked, with no phone, out of the house after him beating me up. I would run. Then, I would see his car lights coming at me, to run me over.

"Another time, he nearly killed me. I woke up to him choking me to the point I was barely able to scream out. Whatever I found in my reach, I grabbed and hit him with it. I still didn't know where to go. Your daily life is: 'How am I going to survive? But I love this man. I can't live without him but I can't live with him.' I was so torn."

She struggled to break free from the relationship as her boyfriend would threaten to kill himself or hurt her family if she left. She finally plucked up the courage when her mum and record label bought her a ticket to New York to escape Los Angeles.
