Review of Chromeo's DJ Kicks compilation

Chromeo DJ Kicks Album

K7 release the 30th version of DJ Kicks this time it features Chromeo. Montreal electro funk duo David Macklovitch and Patrick Gemayel are Chromeo and their 80's electro influences are highlighted on this album.

There's loads of disco boogie, 80's electro funk gems and positive feel good vibes as you'd expect from Chromeo. It was good to see Donna Allen's 'Serious' on there as I hadn't heard that for a while. Val Young's 'Seduction' was pretty cool and total 80's electro Soupier 'Larmes De Metal'. They even put Leo Sayer 'Easy To Love' showing they're not afraid to show what's real to them and one of their own tracks 'I Can't Tell You Why' also fits well into the mix.

This album is an unashamed mix of 80's electro and pop that highlight Chromeo's love for this genre. It flows nicely and fits into the hip cool K7 DJ Kicks collection. Another one bites the dust!
