Former U.S. news anchor Terry Keenan had died, aged 53.

Keenan passed away suddenly on Thursday night (23Oct14) after suffering a massive cerebral haemorrhage. She had received treatment a New York's Lennox Hill hospital.

Her sister Linda says, "It is with tremendous sorrow that we report the passing, due to a massive cerebral haemorrhage, of a wonderful mother, wife, sister, and pioneering financial journalist."

Keenan worked as a presenter at CNN and Cnbc news network before joining Fox News as an anchor and business correspondent in 2002. She hosted business analysis program Cashin' In during her time at the station.

She left in 2009 and wrote a weekly finance column for the New York Post. Her last piece was published on Sunday (19Oct14).
