Irish hunk Colin Farrell had to re-shoot love scenes with a young actress for new movie The New World, because Hollywood lawyers feared the footage infringes American child pornography laws.

The 28-year-old stars as British colonist JOHN SMITH, who falls in love with native American POCAHONTAS, played by 14-year-old Q'ORIANKA KILCHER, in Terrence Malick's period drama.

A source tells gossip site THE SCOOP, "Farrell was told to get romantic and sensual but knew there was a certain amount of kissing involved. He played the scene brilliantly and he really put Q'Orianka at her ease.

"But when the lawyers saw the finished product with Colin and Q'Orianka rolling around on the ground kissing they just flipped out."
