I'm sure we're all in agreement that Conor Maynard is entitled to attend a couple of showbiz parties or glitzy premieres to wind down what has been a pretty sensational 2012 for the young chart-topper from Brighton. Maynard did just that on Wednesday evening (14 November), heading down to London's Leicester Square for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. He's got the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena to come and has a chance at a 4Music Video Honour at the results show on 24 November.

Connor's no doubt comfortable with mingling with A-listers by now and he was joined by the likes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the red-carpet bash this week. He seemed pretty taken aback by the movie itself, tweeting to his 825,000 followers, "Seriously, the new Twilight is INSANE!!! I advise you all to watch it, crazily impressed." As mentioned, it's been a whirlwind year for the 19-year-old whose debut single Can't Say No debuted at No.2 on the UK Singles Chart in April.

More was to come for the youngster - described as Britain's answer to Justin Bieber - and he performed in front of 80,000 fans at the Capital Summertime Ball in June. Second single Vegas Girl peaked at a respectable No.4 while Connor's debut album Contrast charted at the very top of the pile. A high profile collaboration with his mentor Ne-Yo followed, as did numerous television appearances - not bad for a kid who started off by uploading cover songs to YouTube right?

Though he's done the hard work for 2012, Maynard still has a couple of things to keep him occupied until the festive season. He's up for Best Boy at the 4Music Video Honours and has reportedly been inundated with movie scripts as he prepares to take his act stateside. Oh, and he's got a second album to start writing, recording and releasing. Busy 2013 ahead then.
