Following the death of Cory Monteith, his girlfriend and co-star Leah Michele, alongside Glee creator Ryan Murphy, worked on organizing the private memorial, held yesterday in Hollywood, according to E!News. Monteith passed away on July 13th at a Vancouver hotel, due to a drug overdose. The actor was 31. His death at such a young age shocked fans and colleagues alike and condolences have been flooding in ever since the tragic announcement was made.

"Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith," Fox said in a statement for the website. "We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time."

The memorial was intended as a celebration of his life.

Michele, Murphy and the rest of the Glee team will also celebrate Monteith’s life with a special tribute episode during the show’s upcoming season. Besides the memorial episode and two Beatles-themed editions of the show, which have already been produced, the future of Glee is uncertain, with Ryan Murphy having explained last week that he would respect Michele’s wishes on how to move forward.
