Cory Monteith's mother Ann McGregor admits she couldn't bring herself to look at photographs of her late son until three days ago.
Cory Monteith's mother couldn't look at pictures of her late son until three days ago.
Ann McGregor admits, despite a year passing since the 'Glee' actor was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, she couldn't bring herself to look back on the photographic memories of her beloved child.
Talking on 'Good Morning America' yesterday (07.17.14), she said: ''The loss is horrendous. Until three days ago I couldn't look at a picture of Cory. So there's been progress.''
Ann also revealed that she hasn't been able to watch 'Glee' since her son's passing and is yet to see the episode which was dedicated to Cory after his death.
The late actor's girlfriend Lea Michele - who is now dating Matthew Paetz - has remained in contact with Ann since the sudden death of Cory as they are both helping each other deal with the pain they're suffering.
Ann explained: ''[Lea] texts me and emails me. She's hurting. I know her pain.''
Meanwhile, the matriarch admitted that Cory - who died of a drugs overdose - first turned to illegal substances at the age of 15 as he was frustrated by his lack of relationship with his father Joe Monteith.
She recalled: ''[When] Cory was 15, he did a code blue, and I think that was the turning point.
''He had a lot of emotional things he was trying to figure out -- lot of it was he really wanted a relationship with his father. I think when a child gets invalidated they keep reaching even harder. They want to find out why.''
