Former Cream star Ginger Baker is furious after his former assistant who was found guilty of stealing $47,400 (£31,300) from his accounts escaped a jail sentence in South Africa.
The British drummer, 71, accused Lindiwe Noko of defrauding him by using his pin number to make cash withdrawals after learning the code when she showed him how to use ATMs.
She was convicted on 23 counts of fraud at a South African court last month (Sep10).
But Baker is fuming after a judge decided against sending Noko to prison, handing her a correctional supervision sentence instead. This will see her remain at her home under strict conditions.
He says, "(It's a) travesty of justice. She should have been in prison for what she did to me. I trusted her and took her into my life and she repaid me by stealing from me."
