This is your moment Fifty Shades of Grey fans – the trailer for Sam Taylor-Johnson’s steamy adaptation finally dropped on Thursday. This should ease any doubts about stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who both look pretty perfect for their respective roles.

Jamie Dornan was announced as the replacement for the departed Charlie Hunnam to star in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation weeks ago, earning him one of Hollywood's most attention-grabbing starring roles to appear on the upcoming film radar. Speaking as the cover star for Entertainment Weekly, Dornan addressed the pressures of his upcoming role, as well as the route he took to get to where he is and how he is preparing himself for the role.

This is by far the most high-profile role the Northern Irish actor has been given in his time as an actor, yet this is a project that Dornan says he is looking forward to, rather than one whose gradual approach he is dreading. With the part of Christian Grey finally decided on, again, the film adaption of EL James' 50 Shades of Grey can once again inch towards completion. The first post-Jamie Dornan-casting move to be taken care of is the appointment of his brother, who will be played by True Blood actor Luke Grimes.

Grimes joins Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as a confirmed cast member

Grimes is the first actor to be hired for the upcoming 50 Shades adaptation since Jame Dornan was cast as the new Christian Grey - replacing Charlie Hunnam - and joins Jennifer Ehle and Dakota Johnson - who will play lead role Anastasia Steele - as one of the confirmed cast members. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grimes will play Elliot Grey, a pivotal character in the EL James novel, who begins a relationship with Anastasia's best friend, a role that hasn't been cast yet.

Jamie Dornan has signed on to play Christian Grey in Universal and Focus Films' adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey - the bestselling erotic novel by E.L James. Dornan - an Irish actor with only a modest CV - replaces Charlie Hunnam who infamously backed out of the project just 2 weeks before filming was set to begin in Vancouver.

It's likely that Dornan came to the producer's attentions for his excellent turn in the BBC series The Fall, with The X-Files' Gillian Anderson. Playing a bereavement psychologist moonlighting as serial killer, Dornan proved he could do the whole glassy-eyed maniac thing. 

Speaking with Digital Spy of one particularly disturbing scene, the former model said, "I spent a day strangling myself on the back of a door while I masturbated to a driving license of one of my victims. That's not an easy day at the office! And they cut it out! I couldn't believe it-they didn't even tell me. When I first watched the series, it just wasn't there!"

Scott Eastwood, the son of Western movie star Clint Eastwood, is the latest in a long line of names to be associated with the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming, ill-fated film adaptation of EL James' raunchy trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey. The role has had to be recast after former Grey, Charlie Hunnam, walked out over purported scheduling difficulties.

The New Grey?

At this point in time, been described as the 50 Shades frontrunner pretty much means that you're the only male actor left in Hollywood who hasn't already been associated with the role. The list's too long for us to name them all, but notable rumoured former "frontrunners" have included Ian Somerhalder, Jamie Dorkin, Ryan Gosling and Matt Bomer.

Actor Jamie Dornan is the latest in a long line of rumored successors to the role of Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam walked away from the adaptation of author EL James' erotic trilogy. It was going rather well for the Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her team: after what seemed like ages they'd managed to pull off a great casting decision, choosing two actors on the cusp of big-time fame. However, they were not only hit by a 90k strong petition telling them their choice was wrong; they had to say goodbye to Charlie Hunnam, AKA Christian Grey, and learn their Anastasia Steele, Dakota Johnson, had a touch of the heebie jeebies too.

Sons of Anarchy star Hunnam's exit was confirmed earlier this week due to an "immersive TV schedule" that would prevent the actor from being able to fully prepare for the role of Christian Grey. The film took a hit, author EL James sent her best, and fans began to wonder whether Hunnam had secretly been influenced by the petition launched to replace him and Johnson with Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel.

Charlie Hunnam has revealed his "relief" at no longer being involved in the 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation. Universal Pictures confirmed on Saturday, 12 October, that the actor had walked from the project, confirming his exit a month before filming was due to begin on the project. Apparently though, Charlie hasn't been fazed by his exit at all, and if anything he is happy his involvement with it is over.

A source close to the Sons of Anarchy star has spoken with Fox News about the exit and revealed that it is a "big relief" for Charlie to finally be disassociated with the project. When his exit was initially reported, Hunnam's excuse was that he had too busy a schedule to commit to the film, however reports soon emerged saying the actor had gotten cold feet over the role and had become overwhelmed by his sudden thrust into the limelight.

The revelation from the Fox insider confirms that the actor was reluctant to commit to the role in the first place and now that his part in the film has been officially discontinued, he apparently couldn't be more relieved.

UPDATE: British pop star Rita Ora has been cast as the adopted sister of Christian Grey, who will now be played by Irish actor Jamie Dornan. 

The 50 Shades of Grey movie appears to be in turmoil with just over two weeks before a huge crew descends on Vancouver for the first official day of shooting, with Universal and Focus Feature expecting to release the movie - based on E.L. James' erotic novel - in August, 2014.

The actor sensationally left behind his role as Christian Grey in the upcoming FiftyShades of Grey movie adaptation following varied reports stating his schedule was too packed up already and that he had gotten cold feet over the immense pressure of the role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alexander Skarsgard is among the favorites to succeed Hunnam, with his steamy scenes in True Blood and his obvious sex appeal boding well with producers. The same report also states that Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan is also in line to take on the job, however neither of these rumors have been confirmed yet. THR have also reported that Oscar-nominated screenwriter Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal) has been brought in to adjust the script to accomodate another actor.

Dakota Johnson is feeling apprehensive about her part on the upcoming movie adaptation of EL James' 50 Shades of Grey. Like her former co-star Charlie Hunnam, the immense pressure that comes with the coveted role is proving to be a heavy weight to bear, one that she is finding increasingly difficult to keep balance with.

Last week, the 50 Shades of Grey movie was delivered a major blow when lead actor Hunnam dropped out of the project. His reasons for leaving were initially said to be because of his overwhelming work load, however ater reports stated that his exit was more to do with the sheer pressure that came with the job and the limelight that seemed to follow him everywhere since his part in the project was confirmed. Now reports are suggesting that Johnson too could be on the way out.

"Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press," a source close to the actress told E! News. "When she first got the role, it was way too much for her."

Actress Jennifer Ehle has become the latest name to be added to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation cast list. The 43 year-old Pride and Prejudice actress will apparently play Anastasia Steele's mother, Carla, in the screen version of EL James' highly successful and saucy erotic trilogy.
