Daley's new single, Smoking Gun, is the lead track from his mixtape, Those Who Wait, which is available to download from his official website.
As a teen growing up in Manchester, the now 23 year old Daley would spend a lot of time in his room recording songs, after being inspired by artists such as Imogen Heap; Jill Scott and Prince. But as the Manchester music scene was dominated by indie bands, Daley decided to move to London, where he made his name performing in the city's black live music circuit.
Despite being new to the music scene, he has twice appeared in the UK charts: first with Damon Albarn's Gorillaz, featuring on their single Doncamatic; followed by a feature on Long Way Home, a track from Wretch 32's bestselling album, Black and White, which reached the top 5 in the UK Album Charts.
But it was Daley's track, Rainy Day, which got the attention of Radio 1Xtra DJs Ronnie Herel and Mistajam. Daley was soon nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2011 Poll, alongside The Vaccines and Jessie J.
Daley is currently working on his much anticipated debut album, with help from Andre Harris (of Dre and Vidal fame); Bernard Butler (former guitarist for the band Suede) and Shea Taylor (who has worked with the likes of Beyonce and Ne-Yo).
