THE Dandy Warhols are to stage a gig at the Playboy Mansion in California to campaign for the legalisation of marijuana in the U.S.
The rockers openly admit to smoking pot and want to overturn current prohibition laws which make the drug illegal.
The Craft actress Fairuza Bulk will host the event later this week (04Jun09) for the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), an organisation dedicated to axing criminal penalties for using cannabis.
And frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor admits the group also has an ulterior motive to perform - they can't wait to snoop around Hugh Hefner's famous mansion.
He tells NME.com, "We have a lot of stoners in our band so to have marijuana still be illegal is ridiculous. As a recreational chemical it's a lot less dangerous than alcohol.
"There are a lot of countries where it's perfectly legal and they get along better than America. Plus it may be our only chance to go to the Playboy Mansion and hang out."
Members of the MPP advisory board include Hollywood actor Jack Black, as well as comedians Adam Carolla and Bill Maher.
