Danica Patrick is officially a single lady. Well, to be more accurate, she is an unmarried woman. The NASCAR racer finally had her divorce from husband of seven years Paul Hospenthal finalised. The pair got married back in 2005, the same year that Patrick became the fourth woman to compete in the Indy 500. The announcement that the union was ending came late last year, when Patrick said in a Facebook post: "I am sad to inform my fans that after seven years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."

There isn’t much to report on this one really, as according to Us Magazine, the divorce will be a clean one – pre-nupt and all. The couple do not have any children and Danica will reportedly cover the court costs. We’re witnessing that ever so rare of events – a civil celebrity divorce. Now Patrick will be free to look ahead in her current relationship with Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. – another competitor on the stock car circuit. Or maybe she’ll just enjoy her newly acquired freedom for a while.
