Commuters using the Bromley-By-Bow tube station this morning may have heard a familiar voice over the Tannoy. Eastenders star Danny Dyer paid the station a visit to remind travellers to be mindful of the gaps and to use valid tickets for their complete journeys.

"I can't tell you how much I loved sitting in the Bromley-By-Bow control room with them lovely ladies in their blue coats who work tirelessly," he said.

"I remember I used to go through there and get off at Mile End on the District line and change to the Central line to get to Stratford. It brought back some happy memories. So remember everyone - mind that gap."

Dyer's Eastenders character Mick Carter is a regular user of the soap's fictional Walford East Station and his appearance at Bromley coincides with the 30th anniversary week of the show, which is set to reveal the identity of Lucy Beale's killer.

"Our station is at the heart of the East End and it is fantastic that as part of EastEnders' 30th anniversary, our customers will be able to hear one of the most recognisable voices from the show telling them that there is a 'right pukka' service on the District line," Bromley-By-Bow London Underground's area manager Sandra Anderson added.

The first live episode aired on Tuesday evening and passed largely without incident until the very last scene. Jake Wood's character Max Branning appeared to tell his daughter Abi "She knows that you killed Lucy," but his hasty delivery of the line left some Twitter users speculating as to whether he intended to say, "She knows WHO killed Lucy".

Bobby Beale remains the favourite with the bookies to be revealed as Lucy's killer.
