British rapper Dappy is facing a possible jail sentence after he was convicted of punching a fellow party-goer in a row over a woman at a nightclub in England last year (13).

The former N-Dubz star, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, denied attacking Devonn Reid at the Evissa in Reading, England on 6 October (13), but he was found guilty of assault by beating at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday (05Sep14).

The court heard the 27 year old punched Reid during a spat on the dance floor, with prosecutor Zainab Mohamed calling it a "completely unprovoked attack."

Reid testified the drama took place after he saw Dappy talking to his girlfriend and a female pal.

He told the court, "Dappy said to me 'What, don't you want me talking to them?'... I turned to look at him and that is when he hit me straight on the nose... He had just turned and hit me straight with his right hand. After that we just gone (sic). Bouncers came and grabbed him, I have gone to the toilet to clean myself up. He had popped my nose."

The rapper is now facing the possibility of a jail sentence for his second assault conviction. He was previously found guilty of involvement in a brawl at a gas station in Surrey, England in 2012 and was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service.
