Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl Pranks Gothenburg Crowd With Broken Leg Stunt

Dave Grohl Foo Fighters

As if it needed repeating, Dave Grohl is one of the most genial rock stars around, as he displayed last night by pranking an entire stadium into thinking he had broken his leg by falling off-stage – again.

Grohl and his band Foo Fighters were performing on Tuesday night (June 5th) at Gothenburg’s Ullevi Stadium in Sweden – the very same place where the singer had broken his leg in an accidental tumble almost exactly three years before.

In the opening moments of the show, ‘Grohl’ appeared to run out onto the gangway leading out into the crowd from the front of the stage, before slipping over and tumbling headlong into the audience. Initially, there were shocked gasps – history couldn’t be repeating itself, surely?

Dave Grohl Says Nirvana Drew People In

Dave Grohl Nirvana Kurt Cobain

Dave Grohl has hailed Nirvana's relatable music as a huge reason for the band's success and enduring popularity.

The 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' rocker joined the grunge outfit - completed by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic - in 1990, a year after the release of debut album 'Bleach', and he connected with the group after seeing how he built a rapport with their fan base.

In 'Visit Seattle', Grohl has reflected on travelling to the city to audition for Nirvana, and the first time he saw them live in front of 1,200 people at a club.

Foo Fighters: Wolf Alice Are 'scared' Of Us

Foo Fighters Dave Grohl

Foo Fighters think Wolf Alice are ''scared'' of them.

The 'All My Life' rockers recorded their new album 'Concrete and Gold' in Los Angles' EastWest studios, and whilst there they bumped into the London band, who were working on second record 'Visions of a Life'.

However, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl doesn't think he left the best impression on the band, as whilst he also mingled with the likes of Deep Purple and Lady Gaga, he thinks the 'Yuk Foo' rockers were intimidated by the band.

Foo Fighters Dave Grohl Prince Harry

The British royal family sure do make it very difficult to dislike them; especially when it comes to their most down-to-earth heir Prince Harry. He was actually one of the very first people to pay Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl a visit when he broke his leg.

According to the 48-year-old rockstar, Prince Harry dropped in on him when he was in London getting his leg fixed, after doing a stage dive in Gothenburg back in 2015 that went nastily wrong. The royal even brought him a little gift to make hospital life a little easier.

Dave Grohl Wants To Impress Bandmates

Dave Grohl Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins

Dave Grohl always wants to ''impress'' his Foo Fighters bandmates.

The 'Walk' frontman is more ''nervous'' about what the rest of the group think of the songs he's written than the reception they get from fans.

He admitted to Australia's '60 Minutes' ''I want to impress the guys in the band. You know, when I'm in front of a vocal mic and Taylor's in the room listening to me sing, I'm more nervous about what Taylor thinks than whether it's going to go on the radio or anything like that.''

Nirvana’s official Facebook page have responded to the latest internet conspiracy theory that suggests frontman Kurt Cobain is still alive, over 20 years after his death. The bizarre theory emerged online this week after a video circulated of a Peruvian singer who bore a resemblance to Cobain, performing ‘Come As You Are’.

In the video from 2012, singer Ramiro Saavedra was seen performing the track from Nevermind on Peruvian talent show ‘Yo Soy’. Thanks to his blonde hair, sunglass and Cobain-style outfit, Saavedra bore enough of a resemblance to Cobain for some fans to suggest that it actually was the singer, who died in 1994.

'Montage Of Heck' Director Brett Morgen Defends Decision To Release "New" Kurt Cobain Album

Brett Morgen, the director of the Kurt Cobain documentary movie Montage of Heck earlier this year, has revealed the artwork and tracklisting for the “new” album Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings, which is released next month.

The filmmaker also took the time to defend the project from the criticism that it’s received from some quarters in an interview with Rolling Stone. “Just like The Bootleg Series furthers your understanding of Bob Dylan's process, I find that Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings furthers not just our understanding of his process but represents yet another angle, another side of Kurt — an artistic outlet that he was not necessarily able to work within the context of a three-piece band.”

Performing the entire two-and-a-half-hour gig from a huge motorised throne, embossed with the Foo Fighters logo, Grohl announced to the crowd on Saturday night (September 5th): “We came back for you! We waited a long time to be here.”

He’s been officially the nicest man in rock (trademark) for nearly 20 years, but Dave Grohl has revealed that he suffers from “social anxiety” when out of his comfort zone. The Foo Fighters frontman made the comment when asked how he felt about attending next month’s Emmy Awards.

He told Gold Derby in a video interview: “It’s just going to be such a crazy night, I just can’t imagine. I think I’ll feel like that kid who is the new kid at school, the first day at school. I’ll probably just sit down, with my back up against the wall, just nervous, and waiting to see who is going to want to talk to me.”
