Rocker Dave Navarro is urging fans to shop ethically this holiday season and only buy products which have not been tested on animals.
The Jane's Addiction guitarist and animal lover has teamed up with officials at the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) for the organisation's Be Cruelty Free campaign just in time for the festive season.
In a statement issued via the HSUS, Navarro says, "Think about it. What is more evil than applying chemicals into the eyes of a defenseless bunny, burning a guinea pig's skin, or poisoning a mouse to test her reaction in order to appeal to the ego and vanity of humans?
"Not only is the intentional infliction of pain upon thousands of animals each year morally unjustifiable, it also does not reflect the best and latest science. With thousands of ingredients already proven safe and many non-animal test methods available for use, hundreds of cosmetic companies are able to create safe products without participating in archaic animal tests."
