David Cassidy is one of the names heavily rumoured to be taking part in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, which starts in just over a week. While nothing’s been confirmed, ‘Big Brother’s Bit On The Side’ host Rylan Clark did discuss the rumours on ‘This Morning’ and described Cassidy as “the perfect housemate.”

Chatting to hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford about the upcoming series, Clark reminded them of Cassidy’s infamous ‘This Morning’ appearance last year. “You had a nice little guest on the show last year didn’t you? David Cassidy,” he asked the pair.

“Oh, nice did you say? I’m not sure that’s the word I would have used that day,” Ruth answered. “Lovely David Cassidy has been linked to the series,” Rylan continued. “At the time of your interview we said they’d missed a trick.”

“Obviously I’m not confirming or denying anything on behalf of 'Big Brother 'or Channel 5 because I work for it but these are the rumours that are in the papers Apparently he’s been offered £100,000 to go in, we could be seeing him on the new series.

“He’s obviously been through divorce, bankruptcy, three drink driving arrests, he’s been to rehab…sounds like the perfect housemate in all fairness!” Rylan then added that “Playboy model Aubrey O’Day, Sam Fox, Katie Waissel, and Anthea Turner’s ex-husband,” are all also rumoured.

Earlier this month The Sunday People reported that Cassidy had been offered £100,000 to be a 'human grenade' in the celebrity house. A source said: “TV bosses want him to go in there like a human grenade and say what he thinks. He is renowned for his straight-talking. Plus he’s been through the mile - divorce, bankruptcy, three drink-driving arrests and rehab, so he’ll have a lot to talk about.”
