David Schwimmer and his wife Zoe Buckman have announced that they’re “taking time apart” after nearly seven years of marriage.

Former ‘Friends’ star Schwimmer, 50, met 31 year old British photographer Buckman on the set of the 2007 movie Run Fatboy Run, and they’ve been together for 10 years, tying the knot in June 2010 in small private ceremony. A year later, they welcomed their daughter, Cleo.

Giving a statement to E! News on Wednesday (April 5th), the couple said via a representative that they would appreciate privacy at this rocky point in their lives. “It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart while we determine the future of our relationship.”

“Our priority is, of course, our daughter’s happiness and well-being during this challenging time, and so we ask for your support and respect for our privacy as we continue to raise her together and navigate this new chapter for our family.”

Buckman had relocated to Los Angeles from Britain in order to live with Schwimmer, whose star rose again in 2015 with his appearance in ‘American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson’.

Us Weekly reported the news of the separation earlier the same day.

The couple have always been very private about their relationship and their daughter, who is now five years old, but Schwimmer revealed some amusing facts when he appeared on ‘Late Night’ back in May last year.

“Listen, I don't know how the other parents are out there, but my thought when I pour myself a glass of wine that my wife and I have over dinner and my daughter says, 'Can I try that?' I thought, 'Well, if you start saying no then they're just going to want it more.' So, I thought 'Yeah, all right. Go ahead, sweetie. Have a sip.' And luckily she was like, 'Blah! No!'”
