Deadmau5 paid £45,000 for David Hasselhoff's used swim shorts and 'Baywatch' jacket.

The DJ - who is worth an estimated £10.6 million - has won the Spirit of Gumball trophy for most embodying the fun freedom of spirit that the international motor rally after taking part in numerous activities.

He spent £250,000 on charity auctions, which took place during the event, as well as opening the global extravaganza with an epic concert in Miami on June 4, and splashing out for his fellow competitor's trunks.

The latest auction took place on the Paris leg of the rally at the Westin Hotel, and Deadmau5 was also treated to a cuddle from David.

He also bid £125,000 on a signed flag and a place on next year's Gumball 3000 rally - which is more than twice what is normally paid to join the annual event.

Deadmau5 - real name Joel Zimmerman - is taking part in the Gumball 3000 rally in his eye-catching 'Purrari', a Ferrari wrapped in pictures of the internet meme 'Nyan Cat'.

The global event comes to an end in Ibiza later this week.
