In a bid to get more young people in the US voting, the band Death Cab For Cutie have offered a free gig to the college which registers the most voters
NME magazine reports that the band will hold a show at the campus of the college with the most registered voters between now and November as part of the Ultimate College Bowl scheme.
According to the publication, the group supported the Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama at the party's national convention in Denver last month.
The new scheme is being supported by MySpace, Rock the Vote and Declare Yourself.
In addition to the free gig, the winning college will receive Guitar Hero 2 prizes and some scholarship money.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Neil Young has signed DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE to open for his North American tour this autumn.
The band are currently on their own tour and will finish the American run on Friday (September 12th) before conducting a short trip of venues in the US in early October.
