Fact: Rockers Death Cab For Cutie are set to release their first album without guitarist Chris Walla. Walla departed the group after 17 years in September (14), and though a replacement for him has yet to be announced, the group is moving forward as a trio with a new album titled Kintsugi. The band's eighth studio album will be released in March (15), according to Billboard.com.
Fact: Death Cab For Cutie performed a tribute to late moviemaker John Hughes at the Critics Choice Movie Awards in Hollywood on Friday night (15Jan10). The cult band covered Don't You (Forget About Me) - the theme to Hughes' Brat Pack film The Breakfast Club. John Krasinski and Amy Poehler also took part in the tribute, dressed as Pretty In Pink characters Andie Walsh and Phil 'Duckie' Dale. Hughes suffered a heart attack and died last year (09).
