Are Def Leppard Pursuing Legal Action Over One Direction Song?

One Direction Def Leppard

One Direction is back on the Billboard music charts (as they seem to be at any given time), but this time it may not be for their own music. Their song 'Midnight Madness' apparently is a little too close to a classic rock song, and that band may be thinking about suing.

'Midnight Madness' is currently No. 12 on the Billboard chart, but it seems to bear a striking resemblance to Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me," according to Time magazine. The Mirror UK is reporting the band is thinking of suing, but since they are a tabloid, it's very possible nothing will come from it.

Are Bon Jovi Really A Good Choice For Isle Of Wight Headline Slot?

Bon Jovi Def Leppard Europe The Stone Roses

Bon Jovi have added the Isle of Wight Festival to next year’s string of tour dates. the New Jersey band have been booked to close out the festival on the Sunday night, on the main stage. Now, if you don’t know much about music festivals, this is probably a good time to point out that the last night of the festival is the one that everyone remembers. Partly because they’ve run out of money, alcohol and drugs, of course, but also, partly because promoters will quite often choose the most exciting bad they can possibly afford, to close out the final night.

The promoter of the Isle of Wight Festival, John Giddings, reportedly said: "I can't imagine a better rock band with more hits to close our Sunday night." Sorry… but we’ve been having a little chat here at Contact and we can think of MANY better rock bands to headline the Isle of Wight Festival. And we were only really thinking about it for a few minutes. They might not have ‘more’ hits but they’ll almost definitely have ‘more listenable ones.’ It’ll be interesting to see how the promoters build Sunday’s bill around Bon Jovi’s headline slot. Perhaps they’ll get Def Leppard up there, too, or Europe, perhaps? Europe could play ‘the Final Countdown,’ as the countdown to Bon Jovi’s headline slot, perhaps?

The Stone Roses were recently confirmed as the Friday night headliners for the festival; it will be interesting to see how quickly tickets start to fly for this one. It’s going to be Bon Jovi’s only UK festival date of 2013, on June 16 and tickets will go one sale at 9am tomorrow (November 28, 2012).

Def Leppard Whitesnake Thin Lizzy

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has filed for divorce from his wife of 25 years, Julie Campbell. According to TMZ.com, Campbell - who joined the rockers in 1992 - filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

According to the papers, the couple tied the knot way back in 1987 and have two young daughters aged 13 and 11. Campbell is requesting joint legal and physical custody of the girls, though he's also requesting that the judge denies spousal support to Julie. Prior to his work with Def Leppard, Campbell, 50, was well respected for his work with heavy metal band Dio. He also briefly played for Whitesnake after John Sykes left the band in 1987. Over the years, Campbell has also been a member of Thin Lizzy, Sweet Savage, Shadow King and River Dogs. A keen soccer player, the guitarist features regularly for the famous Hollywood F.C. team, which has previously had Robbie Williams, Vinnie Jones, Ralf Little, Ziggy Marley, Frank LeBoeuf and Alexi Lalas on its books.
