The rocker was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2013 and he thought he had beaten the disease when doctors declared he was in remission at the end of that year.

However, he faced another round of aggressive treatment in early 2014 when he underwent a stem cell transplant, and earlier this month (Jun15) Campbell revealed the disease had struck his lymphatic system again and bowed out of the band's upcoming joint tour with Styx and Tesla for an unconfirmed amount of dates.

But he has now been given the green light from doctors to join the trek on Saturday (27Jun15) in Alabama.

A message on Campbell's Facebook page reads: "So, so happy to report that I've dodged the bullet of radiation. I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the U.S. tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour this Saturday night in Birmingham, Alabama.

'Furthermore, they've tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won't have to miss any more shows. I'm so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen."
