The former NFL player Deion Sanders posted a stream of Twitter messages yesterday (April 23, 2012), detailing a violent encounter with his estranged wife. The alleged assault on Sanders apparently ended with his two young children having to file witness reports with police in Texas.
Sanders first made his followers aware of the domestic drama when he posted a message saying "Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She's going to jail n I'm pressing charges!" A little while later, Sanders; who had been posting messages of 'hope' via his website earlier on, then sent out another tweet to say "God is faithful! Thank u all for your prayers, support n Love. A testimony only comes after a test. Truth." CNN have reported that Deion then posted a picture of his sons filling out paperwork and two tweets which said "I'm sad my boys witnessed this mess but I warned the police department here that she was gone try n harm me and my boys. This is on my mama!" and "filling out police reports now! Thank God for this platform to issue the Truth." However, these two posts are no longer visible on his profile, so he may have decided to delete them.
Deion's estranged wife, Pilar Sanders was booked into jail last night, on suspicion of assault, family violence, which is a misdemeanor. Her bail was set at $264 though Cnn does not say if she has been released. Deion spoke to KXAS radio station last night and told them "My kids, they are scared for their life. They just saw two women jump their dad in his own house, in his room, in my room. It's sad."
