Now, her frenemy Demi Lovato has come out in support of her efforts, having herself marked a major milestone in her sobriety struggle.

You see Demi and Selena had their own Youtube channel of smiley, happy vids that reached out to their legions of fans, In one such upload Selena proudly showed off her new ‘Power Rangers’ tee and Demi revealed she’d had her teeth fixed. Miley and her friend Mandy (who?) seemed to find it all pretty funny and created their own video sending up Demi and Selena in the process. Much reference was made to Demi’s new smile (she’d had the gap in her teeth removed) causing some fans to find the clip all a little too 'Mean Girls'. Miley then quickly removed the video and later said, "if we offended them we're super-sorry. They were being funny on their show and Elvis says imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we were imitating them." Lovato and Gomez never said whether or not they found it particularly flattering.

Selena Gomez was secretly admitted to rehab in January, according to reports in a number of media outlets. The 21-year-old was admitted to a rehab facility in Arizona in order to seek treatment, if reports are to be believed. However, her representative has admitted she did enter the facility but not for substance abuse issues.

The former Disney star was admitted into Dawn at the Meadows rehabilitation facility in Arizona on January 5th of this year. Gomez's representative, speaking to E!, said "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse." She may have simply wished to enter the facility in order to take a break from her hectic schedule. This would certainly explain why she cancelled her concerts in Australia in December 2013. In an official statement the singer stated she had prioritised work and that she need some personal time, it read: "It has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

Despite it being Turkey Day, Lillie McCloud and Josh Levi had one less reason to be thankful. This marked an interesting stage of the competition, as McCloud, a 54-year-old from Orlando, FL, and Levi, a 15-year-old from Houston, TX were ousted, making this the night when the eldest and one of the youngest contestants were simultaneously eliminated.

Lovato's team remained safe as Rion Paige survived to sing another day. 

Levi left after finding himself in the bottom two alongside 13-year-old Rion Paige from Jacksonville, Florida. Josh, who competed as part of Paulina Rubio’s “Boys” group, had his future in the competition hanging by a thread, as the judges vote was split equally between him and Paige – 2-2. In the end, it was revealed that the 15-year-old had received fewer viewer votes and Paige’s spot in the final six was secure. Paige is the youngest remaining contestant and part of Demi Lovato’s Girls team.

Last night’s Glee episode was definitely a series high – and not just because of the surprisingly pleasant Demi Lovato cameo. But before we get into any of that, I would urge you to head over to YouTube and check out Santana’s (Naya Rivera) commercial for Yeast-i-Stat. If nothing else, Glee writers know how to make a spot-on parody of a commercial for yeast medication. Even non-fans should get a kick out of this one.

As for the rest of the episodes – the singing montages were solid, the relationships and character development – believable for once and this might just be the first time that Tina gets an actual complete and not-at-all-frustrating storyline. Finally, after years of falling behind for solos, boys and pretty much everything else, in this episode Tina was ecstatic to be nominated for prom queen. And while her Glee cast-members weren’t all that impressed by her announcement, the lovable Tina managed to successfully campaign and win – finally, after Kurt and Rachel in two consecutive years.

Demi Lovato is releasing her very own memoir, come November, entitled Staying Strong: 365 Days A Year. The 21 year-old former Disney star has apparently agreed to a "multi-book" deal with Feiwel and Friends, according to Billboard.

This isn't the first career divergence of the year for Lovato: she'll also be starring in the new season of Glee, playing a New York wannabe singer and Adam Lambert's nemesis. Staying Strong... will apparently be comprised on tweets that Lovato has written over the past year about her life and problems. So it would be possible to say that Demi has been hard at work on her first memoir over the course of the year. A year in progress? Tick.

We've known that Demi Lovato will be appearing in the upcoming season of Glee for a while now, but it wasn't until the recent MTV Video Music Awards that we found out exactly what she'll be doing. It turns out that the former Disney star will be playing the love interest of Naya Rivera's Santana character during her time on the show, which can only be good news right?

Rivera let it slip that Demi, who will be playing a character called Dani during her limited run on the show, will be appearing as her love interest during her time with Glee, which will return to Fox next month.

Glee goes on: actress Jane Lynch has spoken of her feelings towards the fifth - said to be final - series of the high school TV show. Speaking at the Television Academy Performers Peer Group Reception, the 53 year-old said that it's not going to be an easy ride for any of the cast or crew to bid a final farewell to Cory Monteith who was found dead at 31 after a drugs overdose, reports E!.

Demi Lovato will continue her good relationship with Fox this fall when she appears in the network's hit show Glee as part of a six-episode (with the potential for more) story arc. Unfortunately for the X Factor judge however, the news that she will be joining with the hit show has been overshadowed somewhat by the recent rumour that the star had her phone hacked, with the hacker finding and willing to sell nude photos of the star.

TV Line first revealed that Lovato will be appearing as Dani, a friend of Rachel and Santana who the pair know from their time in New York, on Monday (19 August). The star, who turns twenty-one today (20 August), will also feature with fellow guest-star Adam Lambert throughout her run on the show, and will feature in a number of duets together with the American Idol contestant. The news that she will be returning to acting - her first time since the Disney series Sonny With A Chance ended two years ago - was greatly overshadowed however, when Radar Online claimed to have been offered nude photos of the star for a nominal fee later the same day.

At the Teen Choice Awards, held on Sunday 11th August, Lea Michele dedicated her award to Cory Monteith. Michele won the award for Choice Actress in a Comedy for her role as Rachel Berry in Glee.

Michele lost her boyfriend and Glee co-star over a month ago and has attempted to remain out of the public eye since. Monteith died on July 13th, aged just 31, he was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room. The British Columbia coroner ruled his cause of death was a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol.

It was first held in 1999 and has gradually grown increasing popular with the passing years. This year, according to the Teen Choice Award Website, over 150 million teenagers voted on the various categories.

David "Kidd" Kraddick's death on Saturday 27th July was caused by an enlarged heart and blocked arteries, according a preliminary autopsy. As a result he had probably developed an irregular heartbeat.

Kraddick died suddenly in New Orleans whilst hosting a charity golf tournament. The event was in aid of his 'Kidd's Kids' foundation which provides support and rest bite for terminally ill children and their families.

Radio and TV host David 'Kidd' Kraddick has died aged 53 from a reported brain aneurysm whilst at a New Orleans charity golf event, as reported by the LA Times. In tragic, untimely news, the host who many will know as the energetic "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" host passed away In a statement issued by YEA Networks upon learning of Kraddick's death, it was said: "All of us with YEA Networks and the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning crew are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and leader. Kidd devoted his life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children."

Although current speculation cites a brain aneurysm as the key cause of the father-of-one's death, his publicist Ladd Biro has stated that the cause of his death will be disclosed "at the appropriate time" whilst reassuring saddened fans: "He died doing what he loved. Talia Castellano, the 13-year-old, who enchanted America with her makeup videos died on Tuesday (16th July). Talia had battled with cancer: she suffered from neuroblastoma and leukaemia.

Ellen Degeneres, pictured at the Netflix premiere of Arrested Development, was a fan of Talia's YouTube videos.

Neuroblastoma affects the nerve tissue. According to Cancer.org, it is common in children under the age of 1 and affects around 700 children in the US every year. In the majority of cases, including Talia's, it can spread to other parts of the body.

Demi Lovato has told Twitter followers that she has put her father to rest, thanking fans for their support in the wake of his death. Patrick Lovato, 54, divorced from Demi's mother Dianna De La Garza in 1994. The X-Factor judge sung about her strained relationship with her father on the 2011 track 'For The Love of a Daughter,' implying he struggled with alcohol issues.

"Today I put my Daddy to rest.... hardest thing I've ever done.. But I know great things will come of this...," Lovato wrote on Saturday. "There's an overwhelming sense of peace knowing my dad is no longer battling his demons anymore and that makes me so happy." In a 2009 interview with the New York Daily News, Lovato opened up about her decision to cut ties with father Patrick, saying, "The last time I talked to him was two years ago," she said. "You try to have faith in somebody, even when you're the last person that believes in him. But when somebody lets you down after you've been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don't know what to do."

Hit by the news of her father's death, Demi decision to skip X Factor auditions this weekend was met by words of support from her co-judge Simon Cowell, who tweeted "My thoughts are with you Demi.X"

Demi took to Twitter to thank fans for their support in the wake of her father's passing: "I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers. God bless you all, thank you so much love."

Although the 20 year-old star is taking some time out to mourn and be with her family, she was estranged from her late father, having not spoken to him for five years due to a difficult relationship. In 2009, she revealed that they hadn't been speaking for two years due to him letting her down. She told Hollywood Life: "You try to have faith in somebody, even when you're the last person that believes in him. But when somebody lets you down after you've been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don't know what else to do."

It’s been all good news for Selena Gomez recently, as the Spring Breakers star, who also recently released the highly successful Come and Get It single, has become a big sister. On Thursday, Selena’s mother, Mandy Cornett gave birth to a baby girl with husband Brian Teefey. Gomez had announced the pregnancy to her Twitter followers a month prior, saying: "Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news...My mommy's carrying my baby brother or sister :) I'm the happiest girl in the world!"

Now, 20-year-old Selena is presumably too wrapped up in doting on her baby sister to take care of her social media duties. However, New York Daily News reports that pal and X Factor judge Demi Lovato took to Twitter immediately after hearing the news to congratulate her friend. "@selenagomez IS A BIG SISTER!!!!!! Everyone congratulate her and her family!!!!!! #CONGRATSSELENA!!!!" she tweeted Thursday, adding "#CONGRATSSELENAMANDYANDBRIAN !!!!!!"

This is the star’s first sibling. Selena’s parents separated back when the future Disney girl was just five years old, but the family has obviously made it work. Now, Gomez will have to balance family responsibilities with her career, which is on a definite rise this year. She has steadily been trying to distance herself from her Disney past. After releasing Spring Breakers, in which she plays one of four girls on a vacation that gets out of control, Selena dropped the first single off her new album and an accompanying video, showing off her sexy side. Now the actress is looking forward to future career prospects and, if recent news about her are correct, she is even prepared to do nudity for a worthwhile role.

Kelly Rowland broke down in tears while performing her new track 'Dirty Laundry' - a song about her previous jealously of best pal Beyonce - during a show in Washington this week. The crowd cheered for the R&B singer during her tearful delivery of the emotional song, leaving Rowland to stop and wipe away the tears.

In the new track, the former Destiny's Child singer speaks about how her abusive former boyfriend turned her against Beyonce. "Bird in a café. You'd never know what I was dealing with. Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin' it. Bittersweet, she was up, I was down.No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?" she sings. In a video from the Washington gig, Rowland, 32, is seen sitting on a stool and singing before choking up and having to bow her head. Buoyed by the crowd, she continues the song before telling fans, "Doing this song for me was so therapeutic. Honesty, like my mama always says, is always the best policy."

'Dirty Laundry' features on Rowland's forthcoming studio album - another song 'You've Changed' was released on Tuesday (May 28, 2013) and features both Beyonce and Michelle Williams. Indie rockers Vampire Weekend have topped the Billboard 200 chart with their latest record 'Modern Vampires of the City,' besting commercial efforts from the likes of X-Factor judge Demi Lovato, Lady Antebellum and the Great Gatsby soundtrack featuring music from Jay-Z and Florence and the Machine. 

The New York outfit's album sold 134,000 in its first week of sales, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. It was also the first independently distributed album to debut at No.1 on the chart since country singer Jason Aldean's 'Night Train' in November last year. It was another country star - George Strait - who finished in second place this week with sales of 120,000, while Lovato's 'Demi' sold 110,000 copies to take No.3. Last week's No.1, 'Golden' by Lady Antebellum fell to No.5 while the soundtrack to Gatsby dropped to No.4 from No.2.

Meanwhile, on Billboard's Digital Songs chart, rapper and producer team Macklemore & Ryan Lewis held the top spot with 231,000 downloads of their hit 'Can't Hold Us.' Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines, featuring rapper T.I. and Pharrell Williams took second, ahead of Pink.

Demi Lovato has teased her fans with a trailer for her forthcoming single ‘Heart Attack,’ which reveals that the American Idol judge is ready to get up close and personal in her music and confront the demons that have haunted her personal life. It’s no great secret that Demi has struggled with bulimia and self-harm in the past and she admits in the trailer “for a while, I could tell that when people would talk to me, they knew my story,” and explains that she’s “opened up more” on her new album. 

There’s no official news on when the album’s due, though we know that Lovato’s next long-player will be coming out some time this year. During the making of the album, she’s explained “my life began to evolve and I started to grow. These are songs about the celebration of life and how rewarding it can be. This is what this album is about.” As Demi finishes talking, a brief clip of the single plays, with her singing “I think I’d have a heart attack” and the release date of March 4, 2013 flashes up on the screen. Not long to wait, for Lovato’s fans then.

X Factor judge and Disney darling Demi Lovato has given a candid chat to Parade Magazine into what life is like as a X Factor judge, dishing the details about some of her co-judges, as well as discussing her own battles with eating disorders and self harm and how she aspires to inspire as many people as possible.

With the season finale of the X Factor USA only days away (Dec. 20), the show's name is hot on most people's lips; enter Demi Lovato to keep us up to date with what's happening behind the scenes.

The young starlet told the magazine that her time on the show has been an emotional and stressful one, but still one that she has enjoyed nonetheless. Speaking about her co-judges, she had (almost) nothing but good things to say about them, telling the mag that she considers Britney Spears to be "sweet and humble," whilst L. A. Reid, who announced he is leaving the show at the end of the series, is "hilarious and smart." Bad news for the show's head judge and creator Simon Cowell though, as Demi was much less positive, calling him "annoying and old!" What a charmer (not that we doubt Simon wouldn't want it any other way).

The latest person to exit the ever-revolving door that leads to judging on a TV talent show is La Reid, who told bosses on the X Factor that he was done with the show, he told Access Hollywood Reporter.

The head of Epic Records has decided that his time in front of the camera is done as he is now more interested in nurturing the talents already at his disposal, as well as waning to sign a few more new artists now he has a little more spare time on his hands. In a statement given to Access Hollywood, the record executive said, “I have the utmost respect for [show creator] Simon Cowell. He is the very best, and I have had the opportunity to learn so much from working with him. Working with him on X Factor has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m honored to have sat on a panel with such incredible talent.”

Reid, who has sat beside Cowell since he exported the X Factor from Britain to the United States, said he will miss the show nonetheless, but he want to get back to his "core responsibility" of managing things at Epic.

Thursday's festive Thanksgiving episode of The X Factor USA made this years Thanksgiving one to remember for two people in particular, as both Beatrice Miller and Arin Ray were sent home on this weeks episode, as the top ten acts were narrowed down to eight.

It was double trouble for Britney Sears this week too, with Miller and Ray both being under her tutelage. There was little Brit could do for them either, with the judge and mentor telling Ray to think of his time on the show as “a learning experience,” when he was made the first person to get given the heave-ho from the show.

That meant that there was still a final two to face elimination, with youngster Beatrice Miller squaring up with CeCe Frye. Frye performed her own rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s 'Because of You,' and sang it to perfection, which turned the heat right up on Miller, heat you could see getting to the 13-year-old. Performing Dido's 'White Flag', she delivered an equally impressive performance but alas, it just wan't meant to be. The judges cast their vote, Britney said CeCe, the rest chose Bea. We'd be very surprised if the youngster didn't end up finding fame at some point in her life though, she's got the talent, just not the time to work on it properly yet.

VH1 Divas annual special has become a staple in the network's yearly plans since 1998, and this year sees Adam Lambert host the fabulous night, reports E!

This year the show will see performances from Demi Lovato, Ciara, Jordin Sparks, Miley Cyrus and Kelly Roland, and will include special tributes to the Whitney Houston, and Donna Summer- true divas. Lambert expressed his excitement about the post in a statement: "I'm so thrilled to be hosting VH1 Divas this year... I have a feeling it's going to be the most fabulous concert of the year! And LIVE!! Get ready for some amazing performances, killer fashion and fierce divas!" If Lambert performs then he'll certainly add to that list of amazing performances, but he's certainly got the killer fashion down to a T- especially given his recent change of hairstyle, now sporting a surprisingly flattering silver barnet. 

Despite us all loving all the performers set for the show, we're not quite sure they quite stack up to the title 'Divas'. With previous performers including Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Celine Dion and the ultimate diva- Diana Ross. Anyway, we're open for them all to prove us wrong. VH1 Divas airs on December 16th. 

It’s official: Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will join Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell in November as hosts of Fox’s flagship singing talent show, reports The New York Daily News.

"The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out," Simon Cowell said in a statement. "Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier." Lopez, 39, has experience hosting “Extra,” and Kardashian is used to being in front of the camera from her E! reality series, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” They replace the Welsh presenter Steve Jones, who made his name in the U.K on Channel 4 hosting their youthful T4 franchise. “We have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloe is definitely up there in running,” Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres last month.

Kardashian proved to be a tough cookie when it came to negotiations. Talks with the star reached a tense point when an argument over her being on two networks at once arose. However, her determined nature made the deal happen, and she can now enjoy being part of the biggest talent show on TV (once it starts beating The Voice for ratings, that is).

Though it was reported yesterday that Demi Lovato and Niall Horan were 'loosely dating' it seems that Lovato felt the need to correct the press and reassure Niall's fans that he's still a single man.

She admitted her feelings for the One Direction singer, as reported by Yahoo.com, when she said “He knows I have a little crush on him, and we enjoy having dinner when we get the chance. We speak and message all the time... [But] I don't want a relationship over Skype; we are both in a place where we feel zero pressure to rush.”

However, talking with Teen Vogue and alluding to her recent stint in rehab, and her continued progress Lovato said of Niall: "He's a really awesome, sweet guy but [Niall]'s not my boyfriend...I'm in a place right now where I really need to focus on myself." She furthered her comment saying “Obviously, I'm still going to like people—or love them—but I need to not be in a relationship for a while because I need to be OK with being alone, first.” In 2010 the new X-Factor judge had to cancel her involvement with the Jonas Brothers tour and checked into rehab to tackle her depression and eating disorder.

Katie Couric’s bulimia battle became the subject of yesterday’s episode of her new syndicated chat show (September 24, 2012). Couric explained, in an interview with Associated Press, that she felt it was important for her to be as honest with her audience as she asks her guests to be. “I kind of hesitated to even bring it up,” she said of the eating disorder. “But I felt that if I expect people on my show to be honest, then, when relevant, I owe it to people watching to be honest myself… I wanted to focus on my guests, while acknowledging one of the reasons this issue is so important to me: I went through it."

Couric explained that she first started struggling with the illness when she was rejected by her first choice of college. “Like a lot of young women, I was struggling with my body image," she said, "and feeling like I wasn't good enough or attractive enough or thin enough.” Couric managed to control the problem with the help of a therapist and explains “I've learned how to have a much healthier relationship with food, and how to enjoy my life without obsessing about food.”

Couric was joined by Demi Lovato for the show, as she placed the focus on the show’s guests, rather than on herself. The young X Factor judge is known to have suffered with bulimia herself, so agreed to appear on Couric’s chat show to discuss her experiences with her own body image issues.

The Demi Lovato X factor was there for all to see as the feisty young star came out the better of a verbal ding dong with her boss Simon Cowell on Conan O'Brien's chat show. The Sun reports that the duo were there to promote the new series of X Factor, which has just kicked off out in the States, and Lovato brought exactly the same outspoken energy that she's been displaying so far on the program to the chat show couch.

Joking to O'Brien, Lovato quipped "We're trying to reach a younger demographic, and I don't feel we're going to accomplish that when he's showing more cleavage than Britney [Spears] and I are." Cowell, who has recently seen revelations come out in public that suggested he'd told UK X Factor bosses to re-hire Dannii Minogue "for her t*ts", suggested that Lovato and third judge Britney Spears could show more cleavage. However, he was fought down by the 20 year-old who also joked that normally Simon "could braid his chest hair".

Lovato also called Cowell an "a**hole" during the broadcast and, feeling picked on, the beleaguered music mogul turned to O'Brien and pleaded: "Tell her to stop picking on me, please." There was no one on his side in front of the cameras though, with the talk show host replying sarcastically: "Don't pick on him! He's a kind man who's NEVER insulted anyone!" Poor Simon.
