Diana, Princess Of Wales' former lover Dr. Hasnat Khan has slammed an upcoming film examining their romance, branding the biopic "completely wrong".

The world renowned surgeon insists the story is based on "hypotheses and gossip" after watching a trailer for the movie, which is titled Diana and stars Naomi Watts in the title role.

Dr. Khan, who was nicknamed Mr. Wonderful by the princess during their romance, has vowed never to watch the film after seeing a still image of actors Watts and Naveen Andrews at Harefield Hospital, London, where the former couple met.

He tells Britain's Mail on Sunday, "I don't see this movie doing at all well. It is based on gossip and Diana's friends talking about a relationship they didn't know much about, and some of my relatives who didn't know much about it either. It is based on hypotheses and gossip... I could tell immediately those were never our mannerisms at all, with my hands folded behind the back and all that.

"You could tell from that picture that it is all just presumed about how we would behave with each other, and they have got it completely wrong. There wasn't any hierarchy in our relationship. She wasn't a princess and I wasn't a doctor. We were friends, and normal people stand like friends with each other."

The film focuses on the final two years of the princess' life leading up to her death in a car crash in Paris, France, in 1997.
