There's no denying just how incredible last week's episode of 'Game of Thrones' turned out to be. With some brilliant political manoeuvring, a meeting between two of the show's leading forces with Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen coming together and one of the most tragic deaths in the entire series, the show continued to move at a rapid pace towards the inevitable war against the White Walkers, before the conclusive battle for the Iron Throne.

Dame Diana Rigg played Lady Olenna Tyrell in 'Game of Thrones'

One of the biggest talking points came with the episode's final scene, where Lady Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg), also known as the Queen of Thorns, was forced to drink poison by Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) after the complete dismantling of the Tyrell forces and House. Though this was a scene of murder, it wasn't like any murder we've seen in the past. It wasn't a Red or Purple Wedding type send-off for Olenna, but one where she instead was able to take one final victory before passing away.

For the first ever US Red Nose Day on NBC, all the stops were pulled out. What happens when you combine Chris Martin, Liam Neeson, and a large section of the cast of 'Game of Thrones'? Well, you get a behind-the-scenes mockumentary of 'Game of Thrones: The Musical', featuring some of your favourite characters singing such hits as 'Rastafarian Targaryen'.

Peter Dinklage sang about how his character, Tyrion, is still alive despite the odds

The six-minute sketch contained a lot of the current (surviving) cast of the show, like Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Kit Harington, as well as actors like John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy/Reek), Iwan Rheon (Ramsey Bolton) and Charlotte Hope (Myranda). There was also an appearance from some of the long-past actors like Mark Addy (King Robert Baratheon in Season One), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Jojen Reed) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte), who received a serenade from Kit Harington. Diana Rigg (Olenna Tyrell) also made a brief appearance to discuss how the whole concert was a terrible idea.

It may be a vehicle for a great deal of British acting talent, but ‘Game of Thrones’ is apparently unwilling to accommodate Danny Dyer. The ‘Eastenders’ star has apparently auditioned for the HBO smash series on three separate occasions, only to be rejected.

Dyer revealed during a recording of ITV’s ‘Jonathan Ross Show’ “I’ve been up for it three times, I got three knockbacks”. Dame Diana Rigg, another guest on Ross’ show and who plays Lady Olenna Tyrell in ‘Game of Thrones’, said “I’ll put in a word for you as long as you lose the cockney accent.”

The Primetime Emmy Awards were held on Monday evening (25th August) in Los Angeles and there was stiff competition in every category although the results were ultimately highly predictable. 

Breaking Bad dominated the drama awards at the Primetime Emmys.

Season 4 of Game Of Thrones is due to air on April 17th and the build-up has just begun. Some fans of the show were lucky enough to catch a sneak preview of the first episode at a special event at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn.

Thousands of the aforementioned fans were greeted to a preview of the premiere episode and were surprised by the arrival of a number of the show's actors; the writer George R.R. Martin; and a marching band performing the theme song. The Huffington Post reports fans also indulged in "Game of Thrones Beer"; sat on the Iron Throne; and coveted the costumes of some of their favourite characters.

Season three episode four of Game Of Thrones is all about revenge. The final minutes of the episodes were a stunning crescendo, with the masters of Astapor learning that "a dragon is not a slave," in the worst possible way. The episode was arguably the one instalment of the season that wouldn't have looked out of place on the big-screen - it had real cinematic moments, thanks to director Alex Graves.

In the North, Bran has another of his crazy dreams where he is running through the woods with Jojen Reed chasing the tree-eyed-crow. He climbs a tree in pursuit of the crow, but falls when he sees his mother who begs him not to climb again: but what does it all mean? Over in the Riverlands, Arya, Gendry and Sandor Clegane are being transported to the hideout of the Brotherhood without Banners by Thoros and his men. There, they are introduced to Beric Dondarrion, to calls Clegane a murderer - something he refutes. Arya tells the Brotherhood of Micah that Clegane killed.
